What is jiu-jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a ground-based martial art and a practical form of self-defense. A smaller opponent can submit a stronger one through leverage, grip and positioning — without punching, kicking or striking. That is why it is called “the gentle art.”
A game of human chess: intellectually challenging and great exercise. A fight, a sport, a competitive path. An art uniquely expressed by each person who practices it.
A community that brings people together from all walks of life around a shared desire to keep growing — healthier, more positive and respectful on and off the mats.
